I have always loved to travel. In fact, it's one my my life goals...to see the entire world. Lofty, I know. But dreams do come true, I know that for a fact. #truestory
So when I get the chance to escape somewhere new for a weekend (even if it's here in the States) I take it. The way I figure it is this: every new place is an adventure. Some are just easier to get to than others.
A few weekends back I had the chance to visit Camp Comfort in Comfort, Texas. And y'all...if details are your thing, this place is for you. I mean, the sweet owners did not miss a single detail.
If you followed along in my Instagram stories, you know that the facility dates back to the early 20th century. It was an old social hall (pictured above) that they restored with love and care. And the rooms themselves? They were the original bowling alley. You can read about it more on their website...but guys, they incorporated ALL of this history into their designs. Many of the countertops are made from the old bowling alley itself. There are framed pictures of handwritten notes and bowling tickets from those who used to work there.
And not only that, there are a million other details that will astound you. S'mores left out for guests, a campfire built just for you...the list goes on.
There are multiple cabins at Camp Comfort, and even an option to stay in their Airstream. I kept thinking it would be a FABULOUS place to rent out for a family reunion weekend. Every family could have their own cabin, look out onto nature, go swimming in the creek right there in the backyard. It would be pure Heaven!
Not to mention there is SO MUCH to do and see in Comfort, Texas.
I already can't wait to go back. Who's up for a girls trip? Or a women's conference? We could go pickin' all day and talk by the fire all night. Who's with me????
Y'all go check out Camp Comfort in Comfort, Texas. I'll meet you there.
